AVENGED SEVENFOLD: Audio Snippet Of New Music
May 10, 2013An audio snippet of new AVENGED SEVENFOLD music which will appear on the band's forthcoming sixth album can be streamed below. Also available is an audio clip of AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows talking about the songwriting process for the new CD.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD's new disc will follow up 2010's "Nightmare", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. M. Shadows gave NME.com a hint of what the upcoming set would sound like, saying, "This album's a little more groove orientated. There's a little bit more groove to it, a little bit more focused on bigger riffs. So that's where it's headed — every song has gotta have a huge riff and every song has to have a groove to it."
A late summer release is planned for the album.
The new CD is the first that AVENGED is writing without drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan, who died in December 2009.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD recently contributed a new song called "Carry On" to the new video game Call Of Duty: Black Ops II.
In addition to contributing "Carry On" to the new Call Of Duty game, AVENGED SEVENFOLD also appears in the game's closing credits.
In January 2011, AVENGED SEVENFOLD named former CONFIDE member Arin Ilejay as the band's new touring drummer, replacing Mike Portnoy (ex-DREAM THEATER).
